And so summer begins :)

Now that I'm home for the summer I've decided to make the most of it! After all, there's a good chance I'll be staying in Provo for Spring and Summer semesters for the next few years.  Although my job takes up a good portion of my time, I've still found the time to be with friends and to make a change in my life!  I fully plan on this being an amazing summer :)
Seeing my friend Alex off to his prom night!
Seeing my brother graduate from university! So proud of him and his adorable family :) Also, same pose as the last picture? I need some new poses hahaha
Seeing my "twin" off to prom! :D
And more to come! I definitely need to start taking more pictures haha :D This is shaping up to be a great summer for sure, so expect some more blog posts soon!

First World Problems

Like every other Mormon female in this country, I have a Pinterest account.  Some people are on there planning their weddings and others pin super-fashionable clothes that I know I will not be able to afford unless I change my major or marry rich ;) My Pinterest obsession is DIY/home decor.  It's getting pretty unhealthy.  There are roughly 400 crafts that I TOTALLY intend on doing.  Never mind that at this rate I could be doing a craft a day for over a year, leaving my apartment filled with DIY crap hahaha
There definitely are a few that I do intend on doing before I head back up to the good ol' P-town this fall.  I tend to gravitate towards simple crafts that could be done in an hour or two and would be a cute addition to my apartment/future homes.  Here are some of my favorites!

Making Chalkboard Paint in Any Color!
I mean, how awesome is chalkboard paint? Seriously, I'm kind of in love with this table covered in chalkboard paint!
You guys, I love birds.  I WILL be doing this ASAP, I already have the newspaper covered canvases! Making this bird art
Making a cute magnetic surface
Perfect organization board tutorial

I love how I can combine the previous two crafts to make a crazy cute board for my room!

Now that you pretty much know what my bedroom will look like, I hope you guys will check out cheap ways to cute-ify your rooms!  I'm going to go waste a portion of my life finding more crafts to do now :)

A Brief Review: Freshman Year

Let me just start by saying that I LOVE going to BYU.  The people are nice, the dating is fun, and I feel like I've actually learned something useful (unlike high school!).  I think the most lasting part of freshman year was all the fun experiences I had with my new friends :)

This is my oh-so-gorgeous (and handsome!) sports pass group! We had so much fun cheering on our Cougar football team at every game.

Yeah, I met Cosmo the Cougar at Men's volleyball games almost every weekend Winter semester!  It's okay, you guys can be jealous ;)

We had a facial night, don't we look so attractive? We had to wait for the masks to dry and somehow this happened.  I especially enjoy Kate's face (front and center)!

This was our ward Halloween/pumpkin carving/costume contest extravaganza.  Basically, it was an excuse to look ridiculous and have fun :)

My name is Alyssa Adair, and I am a snow-aholic.  Not really, but the first few times it snowed I would get super excited and make all my friends run around in the snow with me!  Yeah, it's pretty obvious that I come from SoCal.

Honestly, if you had a few extra rolls of streamers in your room, what else would you do besides sneak in a friend's room and TP it?  And steal their copy of Catching Fire :)

Camping out at Liberty Square was... uh... super fun.  Not really, but it was a really outrageous bonding experience with my future roommates!

As summer approached, we made all sorts of ridiculous excuses to get outside and just have fun!  Like we were ever actually going to be able to do homework while laying out in the grass ;)

All in all, I had an amazing freshman year.  I got to spend six months living with so many amazing people and learn a great deal about the world around me.  I can't wait until August, when I start my sophomore year :)

A Belated Beginning

Hey everyone! I decided today that I should be documenting my college experience, especially because I completely fail at keeping a diary ;) I'll probably post a few journal entries about freshman year, we'll see what happens!
